Tupelo Market Sales Manager

Southern Broadcasting is looking for a hands-on sales leader to become our Tupelo Market Sales Manager and oversee sales for four radio stations serving North Mississippi and Southwest Tennessee, with two stations in Tupelo and two in Corinth.

Broadcast experience is not required.

What matters more to us is that you love sales, know how to build relationships, have the desire to lead people, and want the opportunity to help grow a company in the market.

This is not a sit-behind-the-desk management position. We want someone who enjoys being out in the community, developing business, meeting people, creating opportunities and helping a sales team succeed.

As Tupelo Market Sales Manager, you will:
 

• Personally prospect, develop and manage local and regional advertising accounts

• Recruit, train and manage a team of approximately three to four sales representatives

• Work alongside your sales team in the field

• Coach, mentor and help salespeople become more successful

• Develop relationships with businesses throughout North Mississippi and Southwest Tennessee

• Help shape our sales strategy, hiring and local sales operation

• Help establish an even stronger local presence for our four radio stations

• Work directly with Southern Broadcasting's CEO on the growth and direction of the market
   

We are looking for someone who leads from the front.  You should be willing to make sales calls yourself, ride with your representatives, meet with clients, coach the team and take responsibility for growing the operation.

You may already be a successful salesperson who is ready for a bigger opportunity.  You may be managing a sales team today.  You may be an experienced outside salesperson who has always wanted the chance to move into leadership.  Or you may simply be someone with a strong sales background, natural leadership ability and the drive to build something bigger.

Your background could be broadcasting, advertising, automotive, financial services, insurance, telecommunications, business-to-business sales or another industry entirely.

We care much more about what you can do than where you learned to do it.

Management experience is helpful, but it is not required. If you are a strong salesperson with leadership ability and the desire to learn, we can help you develop the management side of the position.

Local relationships in Tupelo, Corinth and throughout the surrounding region are also a plus.

The position includes a competitive salary, personal sales commissions and team sales overrides.
